ASSOCIATE CHIROPRACTOR

 Balance opened its doors March 2006 in Downtown Roanoke. We started in less than 1700 square feet and had THREE parking spaces allocated for our center. In May 2009, Balance outgrew its downtown office and relocated to Townside Festival Plaza - where it had almost 3000 square feet. It became clear that with the vision of Balance expanding, the space would need to expand yet again. In November 2013, we relocated to an almost 13,000 square foot, three story wellness center. We now offer chiropractic, personal training, small group training, specialty fitness classes, organic skincare and massage therapy services. With this move, we became Balance Wellspace - our community's "one stop" wellness center.

Our philosophy is simple - take great care of your patients and they will stay and refer other great patients. We have an incredible support team that love what they do and it shows. Our vision is to inspire our community to live a healthier life. We are in the process of integrating our practice with the addition of a Nurse Practitioner to oversee our physical medicine programs and Medical Weight Loss programs which will tie all three floors together and more importantly, provide solutions for those with lifestyle risk factors that we know cause subluxations and ultimately poor health. This is why we are here and this is how we will change our community.

We currently see approximately 300+ patient visits per week and we are growing. My desire is to always work with patients, but I also need to have the time necessary to focus on the business as a whole. We are looking for a spectacular associate to join our team and help with the overflow volume and continue to grow the practice through referrals already coming in from our marketing, advertising and quality care.

An ideal candidate would thrive in a team environment, as this is central to who we are. They would have a desire to serve as a clinical director, as this role needs to be filled to ensure Dr. Walker can continue to work on the business. We believe that we can always improve and learn - so being coachable and willing to learn is very important. I attend several seminars per year and at times our entire team attends seminars that enables them to not only be better team members, but better people. It is critical that the candidate is empathetic, confident in their clinical skills, a great adjuster and ultimately will do what is necessary to get the job done. In our office, patient care is the number one priority and we are known to go above and beyond to exceed their expectations - clearly, it is important that this align with you philosophically as well.

Salary is dependent upon experience, plus a bonus structure. Other benefits include health insurance, short term/long term disability and life insurance, malpractice insurance and an IRA match program.

Exercise Physiologist/Certified Personal Trainer

We are a very busy wellness center looking for a highly organized, fast-paced, friendly and professional team member.

DUTIES: Serve as personal trainer working with patients and their rehabilitation programs through the chiropractic floor. Work with clients in the fitness studio through personal training and or small group training. Create personal training plans that accommodate clients with limitations, such as injuries, decreased ranges of motion, etc. Work accurately within computerized software - check clients in/out, document visit/training progression, answer questions of clients, work directly with finance/billing manager to coordinate client finances and be able to communicate clearly back to the client, assist transitioning patients to other areas in the center and assist other team members with tasks necessary for the business to run smoothly while working on the chiropractic floor.

REQUIREMENTS: Friendly with patients. Excellent ability to communicate. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining friendliness. Ability to multi-task - in the rehabiltation setting, you will be juggling a few tasks at once. Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn software programs. Accurate record keeping. Capable of working closely with peers, interacting with clients, organizing and prioritizing. Non-smoker.

EDUCATION: Four year degree in related field, Certification in Personal Training.

This position could evolve into other roles within the center, including billing, management and/or marketing


Front Desk Team Member

We are a very busy wellness center looking for a highly organized, fast-paced, friendly and professional team member.

DUTIES: Serve as a member of the front desk team and ultimately the first impression of our wellness center - so maintaining a sense of calm with a smile is a must! Check/return voice mails, answer phone calls from multiple lines while remaining friendly at all times, check patients in/out, verify/document and explain charges and/or insurance benefits, collect/document payments, schedule multiple appointments, contact patients for missed appointments and reschedule appointments, work accurately within computerized software, patient recalls for missed appointments, answer questions of patients or refer back to the doctor, assist the doctors as necessary, anticipate needs of support staff and doctors, work directly with finance/billing manager to coordinate patient insurance benefits and be able to communicate clearly back to the patient those benefits, assist the patient with the completion of associated forms (as necessary), answer questions, assist with composing correspondence, manage flow of patients to other areas in the center and assist other team members with tasks necessary for the business to run smoothly.

REQUIREMENTS: Excellent telephone voice and manners. Friendly with patients. Ability to see the big picture - anticipate what will come next and be proactive with actions to keep things running smoothly. Excellent ability to communicate in a respectful manner to fellow team members, patients and vendors. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining friendliness. Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn software programs - ability to troubleshoot is a bonus. Excellent typing skills with accuracy. Accurate record keeping. Capable of working closely with peers, interacting with clients, organizing and prioritizing. Non-smoker. Good credit/background check required.

EDUCATION: High School graduate with two years customer service experience or four year degree.
